Lately I have been getting a lot of heat from certain individuals about my inactivity on Shelblog. I wanted to apologize for this, but at the same time I feel I need to defend myself by demonstrating how awesome I really am.
The day started off by doing a devotional with my husband (Nolan) and listening to a sermon on marriage online courtesy of Messiah Lutheran Church and Pastor Tim Baldinger (anyone interested should go to: www.messiah-nc.org and look up Pastor’s messages in March. He does a four part series on marriage).
I then had to head off to work to make the big bucks at Local Coffee and Tea. We ended up getting a rather large storm so I ended up leaving a 1/2 hour early after a strenuous day at the office, which worked out great because I had a busy evening ahead. When I got home, I pulled out the butter to soften for dessert and the chicken to defrost for dinner (I have very strong organizational skills…hint hint Timmy if you need a new Admin). Then I sat down to watch Stage 15 of the Tour de France so I could not only provide dinner and dessert for my husband when he arrived home, but I could also discuss sports with him as well (plus I love Lance Armstrong…as an athlete).
When the stage ended (which was crushing…poor, old Lance) I started to make a dessert of PLUM UPSIDE DOWN CAKE from scratch!!! YUMMY! Once that was finished, I popped it in the oven, cleaned, and started on phase two: dinner. This was an easy, nutritional one-pot meal of sweet and spicy chicken with baked cabbage and green peppers (again yummy). The cake cooled as I switched the main course into the oven.
In the mean time, I cleaned the kitchen top to bottom, set the table, and caught up with a girl friend. Nolan walked in the door as the timer was going off, groaning about how hungry he was and ready to eat. We sat down at our table, enjoyed our meal and dessert, and as Nolan cleaned (yes he cleans) I sat down to write my blog! Ah. All in a day’s work (and this is Sunday no less).
Eat that Kyle Sheldon. No pun intended
